AAP founder member Himanshu Pathak joins Congress
Kartarpur, January 25, 2017: Founder member of AAP Himanshu Pathak has joined the Congress saying he was disillusioned with the leadership of the party in Punjab.
Though Congress claimed him to be a prize catch, Himanshu has never been a known face of AAP beyond the party circles that too in Jalandhar area. He was involved in IT Cell of AAP during 2014 Lok Sabha election and never been a prominent public face of the party.
According to the Congress press release, he had been involved in the drafting of the party’s constitution and was a pioneer of the Punjab Against Drugs movement.
Pledging his unconditional allegiance to the Congress, Himanshu extended his full support to party president Captain Amarinder Singh in his war against the nefarious designs of AAP. It is being claimed that Congress would be strengthened in Malwa and Doaba regions with his joining Congress.
Venting his frustration against AAP, he said only the Congress, under Captain Amarinder’s leadership, could save the state and its people from being gobbled up by AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal and his cronies, whose only agenda in the Punjab polls was to fill their pockets with as much money as they could.
