Chandigarh, January 27, 2017: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today announced to set up NRI board and declare Sri Amritsar and Sri Anandpur Sahib holy cities immediately after the formation of government besides waiving the property tax on residential properties and cutting the power tariff up to 400 units to half of present tariff.
AAP leaders Sanjay Singh, Gurpreet Singh Waraich, Bhagwant Mann, Kanwar Sandhu, Chander Suta Dogra, Dinesh Chadha and Gagandeep Singh Chadha today released comprehensive manifesto of their party here at a press conference. Sanjay Singh who is national general of AAP said that all promises made them in the six manifestos released for different categories are an agreement with the people of Punjab and AAP will fulfill each and every promise.
Sanjay Singh declared that the post of Deputy Chief Minister presently occupied by Sukhbir Singh Badal would be occupied by a dalit MLA. He said that welfare of dalits, BPL families, employees, farmers and women would be top on agenda of AAP government.
Kanwar Sandhi while briefing on new additions in the party manifesto said that AAP will open ‘Aam Aadmi’ canteens at sub division and district level where one time meal will be available for Rs.5 only. He said that AAP has also decided to launch a health insurance scheme under which every resident of state would be eligible for cashless treatment of up to Ras.5 lakhs in private hospitals.
AAP leader announced that mafia in transport, liquor and sand mining would be demolished and these areas would be opened for general public. The passenger buses would be run by public transport and permits will be given to unemployed youth. Similarly, the monopoly in liquor and sand mining would be broken and contracts would be given to youth. He said that it would help AAP achieve its target go creating 25 lakh new jobs in the state. “We promise to put all mafia related leaders in the jail”, he said.
Emphasizing on welfare of NRIs, Sandhu said that previous government had failed to address the problems of NRIs. AAP will set up a NRI board and properties of NRIs grabbed illegally by SAD and Congress leaders would evacuated within 15 days with certain exceptions due to court cases. He said that NRIs were keen to make huge investment in Punjab but they were not coming forward due to ‘gunda raj’ of SAD-BJP government. The DCs and SSP’s would be directly responsible for land grabbing of NRIs. He said.
Sandhu said that Jan Lok Pal and Human Right Commission would be given more teeth to provide corruption free government and also to maintain human rights of public. He said that investigating all sacrilege cases and giving exemplary punishment tot the guilty is another priority of AAP. Besides law and order and road safety would be implemented with zero tolerance.
He further said that education and health would remain core areas of development. Every primary school would have minimum five teachers, 29000 vacancies of teachers would be filled soon and another about 30,000 new posts would be created. Every village would have ‘Pind Clinic’ and every urban area would have mohalla clinics on Delhi pattern. All government school children will be given laptops, he announced. Three medical colleges and degree colleges in unrepresented areas would be opened, he added.
Sandhu said that they have promised with the employees to implement 6th pay commission fully and revive the old pension scheme which was discontinued by previous Capt Amarinder Singh Government. All contract employees direct or through outsourcing would be regularized. He said that women will get 33 percent reservation in government jobs.
He said that farmers would be made debt free by December 2018 and compensation for crop damage would be enhanced to Rs.20000 per acre besides giving Rs.10,000 to farm laborers in lieu of their salaries if crop is failed or damaged. He said that Sir Chhotu Ram Act of 1934 on farm debts would be implemented and those farmers had paid interest more than the loan amount would be deemed as paid. The Ahrtiyas (Commission agents) would not be allowed to charge interest more than bank rates.
He said that death of youth due to drugs is crucial areas for AAP. Punjab would be drug free state and drug smugglers would be in jail within 15 days of forming government.
The Ex-servicemen will get 13 percent reservation in jobs and gallantry award winners who are waiting for their award of land or money in lieu of land would be compensated immediately. He said that SC , ST and BC commission would be given full powers to give justice to deprived sections.
Sandhu said government would protect the interests of business class and industry. He said that power tariff for industry would be brought under Rs.5 per unit. He said that all schemes like atta-dal scheme would continue and eligible persons who were not included would be enrolled for the scheme.
Bhagwant Mann Chairman of AAP campaign committee said that manifesto was blue print of AAP government’s working. He said that AAP given a chance would change the face of state and restore its lost glory.
