Chandigarh, January 27, 2017: The Punjab Governor and Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh, Shri V.P. Singh Badnore was ‘At Home’ with distinguished citizens of Punjab and Chandigarh at Punjab Raj Bhawan.
The invitees from different walks of life started converging at Punjab Raj Bhavan before the start of the ceremony to greet the Governor. The pathway of Punjab Raj Bhavan was tastefully decorated to receive the distinguished guests. The ‘At Home’ function began as the Punjab police band played the National Anthem. Adequate waterproof arrangements were made due to rain.
Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court, Mr. Justice Shiavax Jal Vazifdar, Chief Secretary, Mr. Sarvesh Kaushal, Mr. M.P. Singh, Additional Chief Secretary to Governor, Mr. V.K. Singh, CEO, Punjab, DGP, Punjab, Mr. Suresh Arora, Adviser to Administrator, Mr. Parimal Rai, Deputy Commissioner, UT, Mr. Ajit Balaji Joshi, Inspector General of Police, Mr. R. S. Luthra, Chief of Army (Retd.) General V.P. Malik, Councillors of Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh. Dr. Atul Sachdeva, Director, GMCH and awardees of Republic Day function, Goc-in-C, Western Command, Lt. Gen Surinder Singh and fresh batch of PCS traineesbesides many senior officers from Punjab and Chandigarh were there to greet the Governor. Senior defence, civil and police officers of Punjab and Chandigarh Administration remained there till the end of the function. The ‘At Home’ was largely attended despite the continuous rain since morning.
The Punjab Governor, Shri V.P. Singh Badnore intermingled with the august gathering. He interacted with the elderly people, serving and retired army officers on this special day. The Governor said that the nation was proud of the sacrifices made by freedom fighters in the freedom struggle.
Progressive farmers from different parts of the State came in strength to greet His Excellency on this auspicious occasion.
