Amritsar, January 27, 2017: Bhartiya Janata Party national president Amit Shah will hold mega rally in Amritsar as part of electioneering for the assembly and lone Lok Sabha by election polls slated for February 4. This was disclosed by BJP Lok Sabha candidate Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina here today following the high level meeting with party top brass.
Chhina who had been selling brand Modi during his canvassing said Shah would be accompanied by various national and state level leaders and the rally will be organized at Ranjit Avenue at the fag end of the ongoing election campaigning for Lok Sabha and state assembly. He said Shah would also answer various queries of the people during his address to the voters in the holy city.
Chhina who addressed various election meetings in rural and urban areas today during his ongoing canvassing sought support from the people for Modi as head of the government. He said an MP is the representative of the people in the Centre as the BJP holds power in Delhi an MP from BJP could fetch central grants easily. He listed the pro-poor and pro-farmers policies of the Modi government and how he can fetch the central grants from Centre for the neglected border areas.
Chhina who continued his tirades against former MPs Navjot Singh Sidhu and Captain Amarinder Singh said that his agenda is to put Amritsar on the international map of tourism and trade. The strengthening of the basic infrastructure, improving the rail, road and air links of the holy city to the other destinations are on his priority list. He said traditionally Amritsar had been commerce and business centre but it lost ground after partition.
``I will work day and night to help the city regain its lost glory so that it emerges as link of trade to Pakistan, Afghanistan and Middle East'', said he.
