Bhucho Mandi (Bathinda), January 28, 2017: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal today said if anybody was involved in sacrilege incidents in Punjab it was the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
Addressing a huge gathering here in favour of party candidate Harpreet Singh, the SAD president said the Congress and the Gandhi family committed the biggest sacrilege ever against the Sikh community by attacking the Harmandar Sahab with tanks and artillery. "This same party is responsible for the massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi. How can you ever forgive this party and the Gandhi family", he asked.
Mr Badal said as for AAP it's leader Arvind Kejriwal was responsible for bull dozing the historic "piau" at Sisganj Gurdwara in Delhi. He said the incidents of sacrilege in Punjab were also traced back to AAP. "AAP leaders openly disrespected the Sri Guru Granth Sahab ji by comparing it with their election manifesto. Even the sacrilege of the holy Koran was traced to an AAP MLA of Delhi".
Mr Badal said this was not all. Kejriwal has now entered into a dangerous conspiracy with radical elements who wanted to spoil the peace and communal harmony of Punjab. He asked the people how they could ever tolerate an outsider like Kejriwal to rule over Punjab. "Don't let this Thug Army Party (TAP)" while referring to AAP "to enter Punjab at any cost".
While talking about the SAD, he said "look at our conduct. We have celebrated all the centenary celebrations associated with the Gurus'. We have beautified the precincts of the Darbar Sahab in Amritsar. We have beautified the Ram Teerath and also the Ravi Das shrine in Kuralgarh. Look at our work. Do you think outsiders will ever work for the betterment of all religions and communities. SAD stand for peace and communal harmony".
Speaking about the SAD manifesto, Mr Badal said the party had always delivered on its promises. "Now we have promised to waive off loans of all small farmers besides promising a Rs 100 bonus on both wheat and paddy. We have also taken a decision to provide five lakh pucca houses to the houseless besides distributing five kg sugar @ Rs 10 per kg and two kg ghee @ Rs 25 per kg to the disadvantaged. Even farm labourers will get compensation in case crops are destroyed by natural calamities", he added.
Asking people to vote for development, Mr Badal said the SAD-BJP alliance was seeking their votes on the basis of its performance alone. We have delivered on all our promises and have made a road map for the next four years also. Vote us to power and you will witness further rapid development in Punjab", he added.
