Navjot Sidhu comes under fire for his alleged vulgar, double-meaning, obscene dialogued in Kapil Show
Chandigarh, April 9, 2017: Punjab minister Navjot Sidhu has come under fire over showing lack of propriety in his utterances in the popular TV comedy show being aired by Sony Television.
Well-known Punjab and Haryana High Court lawyer HC Arora has shot off a letter to Chief Secretary, Punjab drawing his attention to the alleged vulgarity in the latest edition of The Kapil Sharma’s Show aired on Saturday, April 8.
Arora mentioned that he felt offended watching the show along with his wife and daughters. The comedy of Kapil Sharma particularly that of Sidhu was replete with vulgar, double-meaning and obscene dialogues, he maintained.
“It violated various provisions of Indian Penal Code, 1860, as well as those of Information and Technology Act. Their dialogues offended my conscience while viewing the Show along with my wife and daughters,” said Arora in the letter.
Arora asked the Chief Secretary to convey his feelings to the Chief Minister Amarinder Singh.
Quoting some of the alleged objectionable utterances by Sidhu on the show addressed to the show’s host Kapil Sharma, Arora argued “that the situation has reached such alarming proportions that Chief Minister must rein in his Colleague, Mr. Navjot Singh Sidhu.”
Arora has reproduces the quotes of Sidhu reportedly used in Kapil comedy show aired on April08, 2017 as under:
Mr. Sidhu told Kapil Sharma “कपिल , तुम शादी करवा लो-४० साल की आयु के बाद बन्दे के सेल्ल ख़तम हो जाते हैं" (Translated into English that would mean ”Kapil, you please get married, otherwise after crossing age of 40 years, you shall lose your reproductive capacity”
Elaborating his message further, Sidhu explained like this:
"इक बार इक बज़ुर्ग लू (पेशाब करने) के लिए वाशरूम गया-वापस लौटा तो उस ने पेण्ट के बटन बंद नहीं किये हुए थे:जब उसे इस का कारण पूछा गया, तो वह बोलै " जिस संदूक में खज़ाना न हो, उस को ताला लगाने का कोइ फ़ायदा नहीं."
What Mr. Sidhu wanted to bring home to audience is that an old man need not button up his pants, as he being virtually impotent, cannot harm any woman.
