Gangster Sohan Lal in policy custody after his arrest in Ludhiana on Thursday
Ludhiana, September, 14, 2017: Continuing its drive against gangsters, Ludhiana police on Thursday achieved a major success with arrest of wanted gangster Sohan Lal, a key associate of Dilpreet Singh, the leader of Baba Gang.
The accused gangster has 7 cases of murder, attempt to murder, loot and snatching registered against him in Moga, Tarn Taran and Amritsar districts. He was declared proclaimed offender in 5 cases.
The police recovered a .32 bore pistol and 5 live cartridges from the accused.

Commissioner of Police (CP), Ludhiana, RN Dhoke said that the accused belonged to Patti in Tarn Taran district and was involved in every crime committed by Baba Gang. Besides gang leader Dilpreet Singh Baba, other members of the gang included Sikander Singh, Mandeep Kumar Nagina and Money Kumar Katti.
Dilpreet Singh along with his key associates came to Ludhiana in a SUV Creta snatched on July 15, 2017 after killing driver of Baba Budha Transport on Fatehgarh Churian Road. They all stayed at the house of gangster Katti in Jamalpur area of Ludhiana.
CP Dhoke informed that accused Sohan Lal joined the world of crime in 2012. He remained in Central Jail, Gurdaspur for two years for his involvement in a murder case.
The accused passed matriculation from DAV Senior Secondary School, Patti after which he started working privately. He got job in Municipal Committee, Patti a year after death of his father due to heart attack.
