Math parks to be replicated in other schools of district: DC Thori

Barnala, 24 October 2017: For the benefit of students and introducing innovative techniques in teaching, Deputy Commissioner Mr Ghanshyam Thori today inaugurated "Srinivasa Ramanujan Math Park" at Government Senior Secondary School (Boys) at Tapa, near here today. A brainchild of Mathematics teacher of same school, Dr Sanjeev Kumar, this park is proving a boon for the students.
While inaugurating the "Srinivasa Ramanujan Math Park", that has been named after the great mathematician, the Deputy Commissioner said that there is a need to introduce such innovative techniques in teaching. He said that soon, this math park would be replicated at Government Senior Secondary School (Girls), Tapa and Municipal Councillor from ward number 9, Mr Anil Kumar, has already assured to sponsor it. Mr Ghanshyam Thori said that such parks would be developed and replicated in other schools of the district as well.
While addressing the students, Mr Thori shared some facts about the life of Srinivasa Ramanujan, who died at an age of just 33. He urged the students to always work hard in life and set themselves a clear goal.
Dr Sanjeev Kumar informed that "Srinivasa Ramanujan Math Park" has been constructed with a cost of Rs 1,13,720 out of which Rs 43,630 were spent from his own pocket and the remaining from the school funds. He said that he had conceptualised this park in June and the construction took two months to complete. He said that now, the students have started enjoying mathematics and it would certainly help them in their studies.
Mr Ghanshyam Thori further stated that the District Administration is committed to provide best governance to its residents. He said that Graffiti's are being carried out in different parts of the district, five community kitchens have been started for the poor, Roshni Eye Checkup Camps and Sanjeevani Medical Checkup Camps have been started for the welfare of people, especially those living in rural areas. He informed that very soon, the District Administration would be coming up with a Model School and Model Aanganwari in the district. The Deputy Commissioner also thanked the residents of Barnala district in always supporting the District Administration for various projects.
