Fatehgarh Sahib, February 21, 2018: The constable and Havaldar rank police personnel in a letter to Chief Minister Capt. Amrinder Singh have urged him to start local rank promotions without financial benefits instead of " Sifarsh" promotions, so that they may work with more enthusiasm and retire at honorable rank. They said at present the constable even after the service of 35 years is promoted only up to havaldar rank and retires.
They said Capt. Amnrinder had announced that Govt. will give good news to police in new year, so they are expecting and demand from CM that a constable after 16 years of service having clean image should be promoted on havaldar local rank without any financial benefit and after service of 24 years as Assistant Sub Inspector, after 30 year service as Sub Inspector and after 35 year service as Inspector rank without any financial benefits.
They said police personnel at lower rank work in stress round the clock and even DGP Punjab Suresh Arora has assured them in this regard to take up the matter with Govt. They said there will be no financial burden on the Govt. rather it will boost the morale of police and encourage them to do their duty honestly and dedicatedly for getting promotion.
They said Capt. Amrinder Govt. is their only hope as he is known for taking daring steps.
