Chandigarh May 24, 2018: Punjab DGP Suresh Arora on Thursday honoured Jasmine Kaur Chahal here at Punjab Police Headquarters who have secured second rank in Class X ICSE examination across the country.
A student of St. Joseph Convent School, Jalandhar, she secured 99 percent marks in this examination.
An official spokesperson said that DGP Arora congratulated Jasmine Kaur on her extraordinary achievement and expressed that her success would prove to be a source of inspiration for the students especially children studying in the schools being run under the control of Punjab Police.
Sharing his experiences, DGP Arora asked Jasmine’s parents to provide more opportunities in future to this well deserving girl so that she could do better in higher education and make the family and Punjab proud.
On this occasion, DGP Arora and Chief Director,Punjab Vigilance Bureau BK Uppal presented a laptop to Jasmine as a gift from the Bureau.
Her father Karamvir Singh is posted as DSP Vigilance Bureau at Kapurthala and mother Gurpreet Kaur is working as English lecturer at Government Senior Secondary School, Model House, Jalandhar.
Jasmine said she would opt for Non-medical stream including Computer Studies in Class 12 as she aspires to take admission in IIT.
She attributed her success to her persistent hard work and parents' inspiration.
Those present included DGP Administration M.K. Tiwari, ADGP Welfare, Sanjeev Kumar Kalra, ADGP Litigation Gurpreet Kaur Deo and SSP Vigilance Bureau Jalandhar Daljinder Singh Dhillon and her parents.
