Chandigarh, October 16, 2018: On the 34th year of denial of justice to the victims of 1984 anti Sikh violence, All India Sikh Students Federation announced to internationalize the issue of impunity to the perpetrators of Sikh Genocide by
launching an email campaign urging UN to commemorate November 1st as "Sikh Genocide Remembrance Day" and gave a call for Punjab Bandh on November 01, 2018.
AISSF launched an online portal www.1984SikhGenocide.org for Sikhs around the world to email the letter to UN Secretary General His Excellency Mr. António Guterres stating that "millions of Sikhs around the world commemorate November as a month when Sikh people were subjected to genocidal attacks in India, therefore, proclaiming November 1st as "Sikh Genocide Remembrance Day" is a just demand of the Sikh community which is widely being honored by the communities around the world".
Urging Punjab Congress, SAD Badal, United Akali Dal, Akali dal 1920 akali dal indipendent , BJP, BSP, LIP ,CPI Youth Clubs, Over like minded Partys SAD Amritsar, Dal Khalsa and APP to support the call for Punjab Bandh on November 1st, Nov 1984 Prime Witness Sajan kumar Case Bibi Jagdish kaur , Bibi Nirpreet kaur , AISSF President Karnail Singh Peermohammad , President AISSF bhoma Function Dr Manjeet Singh Bhoma stated that "denial of justice to victims of 1984 Sikh Genocide is a human rights issue and all parties should rise above the political differences in supporting the victims of violence".
AISSF urged all business, educational institutions and offices in Punjab to observe closure on November 1st in solidarity with the innocent men, women and children who were brutally killed throughout India during the first week of November 1984.
