Chandigarh, January 11, 2019: As many as 31 students from the seven states of North –East accompanied by the office bearers and activists of ABVP and Mr. Vineet Joshi, former State Secretary BJP Punjab today called on the Governor Punjab and Administrator UT Chandigarh Sh. V.P. Singh Badnore at Punjab Raj Bhawan. The students are visiting Chandigarh and nearby places during their 4 day visit organized by the students' experience in interstate living (SEIL). The families of Chandigarh have offered the children 'Home Stay' in their families where they have so much to learn about from the daily routine to the customs and rituals of the families living Chandigarh.
Interacting with the delegates from the "Seven Sisters", Mr. Badnore said that SEIL was a unique programme towards strengthening the national integration. He said India is a multi lingual culturally diverse country and it is very important to have such kind of interstate interactive exchange programmes where not only sharing of ideas but academic, cultural and customary interactions bring much needed proximity as per the ethos of our country. A value of equality, compassion and democracy that brings together our diverse cultures is the need of an hour that ensures oneness, said the Governor.
Complimenting the visiting delegates of the seven states of the North-Eastern part of India, he said that the people there especially the youth are inquisitive, outgoing and vibrant. They can play a crucial role in making India proud in every field through better use of technology. India is looking forward to becoming a global power and youth of India have the most pivotal role to play in this. The onus of building a new India lies with the youth of the country, he added.
