Chandigarh, January 19, 2019 : Captain Amarinder Singh led state government has prepared a panel of police officials for selection of the new Director General of Police after the present DGP Suresh Arora retires. The panel is expected to be sent to the UPSC by Monday. As per the guidelines of UPSC, state government has prepared three different panels from amongst which the DGP would be selected.
Sources privy to the developments told Babushahi.com that in a meeting on Saturday evening chaired by Captain Amarinder Singh decision regarding the panel was taken.Chief Principal Secretary Suresh Kumar and Additional Chief Secretary Home NS Kalsi were also present during the meeting.
One of the three panels include list of those 13 IPS officers who have completed 30 years of their service while the second list includes names of those officials who are left with service of only two years. The third list includes names of those officials who have completed 30 years of their service and will retire after another two years. Samant Goel is on central deputation at New Delhi.
