Warns over pricing shall be strictly proceeded against
S. A. S. Nagar, March 29, 2020: Reviewing the demand and supply of fruits and vegetables in the district, Girish Dayalan Deputy Commissioner SAS Nagar has issued a revised retail-rate list for sale of fruits and vegetables in the city.
As per the new list the per kilogram sale price of Tomatoes is Rs. 25, Onion Rs. 35, Cabbage Rs. 20, Peas Rs. 40, Beans Rs. 30, Ghia/ bottle gourd Rs. 20, capsicum Rs. 30, green chilly Rs. 50, cauliflower Rs. 20, Spinach Rs15 per bunch, Methi / fenugreek Rs.15 per bunch, Coriander Rs. 10 per bunch, Ginger Rs. 80, Lemon Rs. 70, Carrot Rs. 30,Pumpkin Rs. 40, Cucumber Rs. 30, Radish Rs. 20, beetroot Rs.30, bitter gourd Rs. 50.
Besides, rate of prominent fruits has been fixed as banana Rs. 50, Orange Rs. 60, Apple Rs. 120, Papaya Rs. 30, Kinnow Rs. 40 and Grapes Rs 100 per kilogram.
The Deputy Commissioner has warned fruit and vegetable sellers against over pricing and said that the prices should not exceed the fixed rate and any violation of the order shall be strictly proceeded against.
However, keeping in view the quantities of fruits and vegetables available for supply in the district, the rate list can be revised in times to come, said he.
