Chandigarh, April 10, 2020: Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh said during a press conference today that very senior and top class medical officers have said that they expect coronavirus will peak in mid September when it is expected that 58% of population could be infected.
On lockdown, CM said that if lockdown is lifted then, according to Indian scientists and medical practitioners, 80-85% of India may get infected.
“If these figures are correct then they are horrendous,” Capt Amarinder said.
He said in Punjab, 27 cases are there with no travel history and it can be said that most of them are cases of community transmission.
“I can tell you one thing, the only good thing that has come out of coronavirus is that drugs supply line has broken. We are happy, we have a task force working on it,” he said.
