Mohali Banks to spread voter awareness message
Along with bank services, customers will be encouraged to vote on June 1

Mohali, April 19, 2024: As per the instructions of the Election Commission of India and under the guidelines of the Chief Electoral Officer Punjab, Sibin C, the District SVEEP team led by District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain has been making all-out efforts for achieving more than 80 percent voter turnout target.
Divulging the details, District Nodal Officer, Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) Prof. Gurbakshish Singh Antal said that after showing the IPL match to the young and first-time voters and conducting a successful marathon of women to encourage women voters, now the district SVEEP team in coordination with District Lead Bank Manager MK Bhardwaj has been marching ahead to mobilize the banking customers as a part of voter awareness drive to give the campaign further boost.
He said that today the campaign was launched from Punjab National Bank, Phase 3B2 Mohali.
He said that every bank and ATM of Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar will convey a message for the strengthening of democracy by pasting/displaying posters/stickers 'Punjab Votes on 1 June 2024' and the use of various mobile apps.
District Lead Bank Manager M K Bhardwaj said that voter awareness messages will be posted/displayed on about 450 ATMs in the district. Today, Punjab National Bank Manager Sanjeev Deura, all the staff and customers who came to avail bank services were also administered the pledge to vote.
The deputy manager of the bank, Pragati, who will vote for the first time, gave a message to all the youths, 'Mera Pehla Vote Desh De Naam'. On this occasion, key rings and caps with messages to vote on June 1, 2024, were also distributed to the voters availing banking services.
Election Tehsildar Sanjay Kumar and Superintendent GMADA Guriqbal Singh were also present.
