DC Barnala Ghanshyam Thori
Barnala, May 24, 2017: Soon, the people visiting for official work to the District Administrative Complex, Barnala would be able to avail free Wi-Fi facility. The Barnala District Administration has already signed a formal agreement with Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL) and they would start this facility soon.
While providing information, Deputy Commissioner Mr Ghanshyam Thori informed that for the success of this project, Wi-Fi routers would be installed in different areas of the District Administrative Complex. He said that free Wi-Fi facility would prove very beneficial for people who visit the District Administrative Complex for work. Mr Thori said that there are various schemes of state as well as union government about which details can be sought online. He said that with free Wi-Fi access, people would be able to know more about such schemes.
It is pertinent to mention here that it was during Mr Ghanshyam Thori’s tenure as Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana, that free Wi-Fi facility was first started in all MC office buildings as well as other prominent areas/markets. This facility has been going on well ever since.
As a part of the modernisation and governance reforms, biomatric attendance has already been started in the District Administrative Complex, Barnala. Besides, Barnala is the only district of the state that is entirely covered (all sub-divisions) under the “Community Kitchen” scheme of the Punjab government.
Deputy Commissioner Mr Ghanshyam Thori said that the agreement with RJIL has already been signed and the facilty is expected to start very soon.
