9 Corona +ve cases in one colony in Ferozepur declared as Micro-Containment Zone
Ferozepur, July 26, 2020: With the detection of nine Corona positive cases in one of the colony – Ghumhar Mandi – has been declared as Micro-Containment Zone for 28 days.
In Ferozepur, 290 Corona positive cases has so far surfaced since the outbreak of Coronavirus and at present 102 corona cases are active and under treatment and observation of the Health Department. However, 172 positive cases have also recovered but there had been six deaths in the district.
Two days back, with detection of 7 CID officials as Corona positive, the police station Ferozepur Cantt where its office is housed on the third floor, has also been closed, as precautionary measures and sanitization work of the building is on. Besides, the tracing of persons in their contact and sampling is also in progress in addition to putting them under quarantine. Even in Zira sub-division, with the surfacing of one accused found positive before taking him to the court and the Corona sample testing of all the ten employees who came in contact with him have been sent and quarantined. Similarly, a similar action has been initiated for the bank at Zira where five employees have been found Corona positive.
Divulging with the details, Kirpal Singh SHO Ferozepur Cantt said, we have sealed the entire four lanes of Ghumhar Mandi, initially for 28 days as per the medical protocol, during which period there will no movement within the area and also banned the entry from outside. Instructions have been issued to remain at home and health department teams will closely watch the area to curb further spread of virus. However, the supply of essential services in the area and shops will be allowed to deliver the goods at home.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner, Gurpal Singh Chahal has made an appeal to the citizens to remain alert about the precautions to be taken like wearing masks, washing hands and staying at home. He said, only taking precautions as per the guidelines can save us from the infection of coronavirus.
