“Reopen Kartarpur corridor on Guru Nanak Dev’s death anniversary”, Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Committee appeals Indian Govt

Chandigarh, September 20, 2021: Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee has requested the Indian government to open the Kartarpur corridor so that the devotees can pay obeisance at Kartarpur Sahib on the occasion on the occasion on Jyoti Jot Diwas (death anniversary) of Guru Nanak Dev Ji that is will be observed on September 22.
Inderjeet Singh, Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee member from Sri Kartarpur Singh Narowal appealed to the Indian government to reopen the corridor.
“On behalf of the Pakistan Government, Pakistan Sikh community, and Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee, we request the Indian government to open the corridor from Kartarpur Sahib for India -based pilgrims so that they can pay obeisance at Kartarpur Sahib on the occasion on the occasion on Jyoti Jot Diwas (death anniversary) of Guru Nanak Dev Ji,” Inderjeet Singh said.
Inderjit further asked the Indian pilgrims to converge in large numbers on the Indian side of the corridor so that they can at least have the darshan of Palki Sahib. Inderjit Singh shared that the committee has made elaborate arrangements for the Sangats.
“Pakistan Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee will be observing Guru Purab on the occasion of Jyoti Jot Diwas of Guru Nanak Dev ji on September 21, 22, and 23. We have made several arrangements for the pilgrims including Langar Halls, washrooms and accommodations, security, transportation, and medical facilities.
He shared that Pak Sikh Gurdwara Committee gifted Palki bus to Gurdwara Darbar Sahib, Kartarpur for the Nagar Kirtan on the occasion of Jyoti Jot Diwas.
Singh shared that Nagar Kirtan will be carried out from Gurdwara Darbar Sahib to Zero Line of the corridor. While the Akand Path would begin on September 21 to mark the Jyoti Jot Diwas, bhog will be distributed on September 22.
