Medical stores in Chandigarh to remain closed on May 30: Chemists Association
Chandigarh May 29, 2017: Chandigarh Chemists’ Association (CCA) will keep all the 600 medical stores in the city beautiful closed on May 30.
The decision follows the call given by All-India Organisation of Chemists and Druggists Association for nationwide strike on the issues of online sale of medicines, E portal, mandatory D. Pharma qualification for a chemist and renewal of licences.
Announcing this here on Monday, the CCA President Vijay Anand said all the medical stores of Chandigarh would remain closed in support of the strike call.
“We are entirely against the online sale of medicines which may prove fatal for the health of patients. Also if e- Portal is imposed upon us, we will be uploading bills and prescriptions all day rather than selling medicines. The government move of making D. Pharma mandatory for wholesale chemists too will create further unemployment,” he said.
