Capt. Abhimanyu, Finance Minister, Haryana
Chandigarh, November 8, 2017:Haryana Finance Minister, Capt. Abhimanyu said that State’s SGST collection has been two and half times more than Punjab according to the figures for the last three months. Haryana is at fifth position in GST Collection in the country.
He stated this while addressing a press conference on the completion of one year of demonetization in the country here today. State BJP Media Incharge, Rajiv Jain was also present on this occasion.
A year ago, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while taking a political will, had hit hard on 86 per cent of the total issued currency and step forward towards formal economy from informal economy. This decision of Centre government was accepted by 125 crore people in the country which had smashed on corruption, naxalism and terrorism. He said that today the whole nation is celebrating the anti-black money day, but the main opposition Congress is celebrating it as a black day. This clearly shows that the Congress is unable to hide its pain caused by this decision and their gimmick has been exposed.
The FM said that today the senior Congress leader and former Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, had to come on such light statement in the pressure of their own party that he had described it loot in the guise of demonetization. He questioned, an attack on corruption is loot or 2G, CWG, Colgate Scam, Space Dewas Scam and issues of son-in-law are the loot. At that time why he was sitting with close eyes.
Referring to an article of senior Congress leader and former Minister, Mr Veerappa Moily, he said that Moily has said that black money was not stopped with demonetization. This clearly shows that they accepted the presence of black money in the country and it also shows that they have promoted black money during their tenure, he added.
Reacting to the statement made by Congress Vice-President, Mr Rahul Gandhi that the GST has been implemented without any preparedness, Capt Abhimanyu said that the GST has been implemented after the Parliament and all State Assemblies passed an Act for the same. The Congress ruling states are also the member of the GST Council and it has been implemented with their support and cooperation. Moreover, the Congress ruling states have passed the Act before the BJP ruling states. This clearly reflected that Mr Rahul Gandhi has not been properly informed about the draft of GST.
The FM said that one year of demonetization in the country has been completed and therefore, its impact should be analyzed. It is matter of happiness that we are getting lot to read about GST through the media, the fourth pillar of democracy. Everybody has different perspective but the step of demonetization has fulfilled the expectations and aspirations of 125 crore people of the State.
