Gandhinagar, December 18, 2017: The gap between the BJP and Congress in terms of lead trend has widened in Gujarat as the BJP now well ahead of the Congress by leading in over 100 seats in 182-seat State Assembly.
Any party needs to touch 92-seat mark to form the government.
The Congress is now leading in 74 seats and the pollsters predict that if the trend continues, the BJP will form the government for the fifth time in row. The margin of seats, of course, will be lesser than the 2012 results.
Though the Congress is trailing behind the incumbent BJP, but has shown improvement in its 2012 performance. This time the party is seen gaining in 13 seats.
