Ferozepur police crack gruesome murder of NRI woman
Ferozepur, March 26, 2019: With the arrest of two accused and recovery of the dead body, the Ferozepur police have cracked the murder of NRI woman, who had been missing since March 14 under mysterious circumstances from Bagge Ke Pippal village, whose dead body was found from Bhakhra Canal near Lehragaga,
Divulging with more details by holding a press conference with the media pesons today, SSP Sandeep Goel said, it looks to be a ‘lust story’. The two accused Garanjeet Kaur wife of Jagmeet Bawa of Saman in Sangrur and Sandeep Singh son of Sukha Singh of Samana – said to be cousin of Kiranjeet Kaur - have been arrested, with five day’s police remand and Kiranjeet Kaur wife of Surinder Singh in Australia who helped in all this episode, is reported to have flown back to Australia on Singapore flight. While the main conspirator, Jaspreet Singh husband of Ravneet Kaur is as of now said to be in Australia. The two accused Taranjeet Kaur was arrested on March 24, Sandeep Singh has been arrested today.
Jaspreet had developed illicit relations with a girl called Kiran in Australia. Despite Ravneet’s repleated pleas, Jaspreet was not ready to end his affair. To get rid of his wife, Jaspreet plotted her murder with his paramour’s help when Ravneet had gone to India.
During the preliminary investigation, the accused have admitted that Ravneet Kaur was murdered on the day of kidnap on March 14 and dead body thrown in the canal. We have cracked the case but about her pregnancy, it cannot be commented at this stage and let the medical-legal report come., said SSP.
On asking about the arrest of Jaspreet Singh, he said, it is too early to comment. But we have to follow the procedure for his extradition.
Initially, the case was registered of kidnap but with the recovery of the dead body, more sections – 364, 302 and 120-B - have been added. I can’t share more technical details, as it will hamper the investigation to reach the logical ends. Definitely, the case will be investigated by the Australian security agency microscopically, he added.
Commenting on the dharna by the family members of Ravneet Kaur, he said, “I can well understand their anguish but we have not closed the case as the investigations are still going from various angles and there is more to expose so many things”.
I have all praise for the team of Baljit Singh, SP(Investigation), Sukhvinderplal Singh, DSP, Paramjit Singh Inspector CIA staff and Mohit Dhawan, SI/SHO Arifke, who had worked day and night to crack the case.
