Fatehgarh Sahib, May 15, 2019: Krishan Kumar Secretary Education is striving hard to uplift the standard of education in the State, though he is facing lot of flak from the teaching community for his innovative methods and strict discipline, but he has his human side also. He makes it a point to appreciate the District Education Officers in whose district the students from Govt. schools figured in merit list.
In a letter to Paramjit Singh Sidhu District Education Officer (Secondary) Krishan Kumar Secretary appreciated the extraordinary efforts made by her in improving the results of the examinations conducted by PSEB in Fatehgarh Sahib. He has mentioned that the excellent results of the students studying in Govt. schools could be made possible only because of your constant monitoring, motivation and personal involvement followed by frequent visits to the schools. He hoped that this trend will continue and Govt. school students will excel.
It is worth mentioning that in Plus Two exam results declared by PSEB Govt. School students performed excellently in the district as seven students from Govt. Schools out of eight figured in the merit list, whereas only one student from private schools made it to merit list.
Similarly out of the first 16 students, who figured in merit list of the matric result declared by Punjab School Education Board, eleven students were from the district Fatehgarh Sahib.
Paramjit Kaur Sidhu District Education Officer (Secondary) told that Fatehgarh Sahib District was earlier at 6th rank in the State but now it has jumped to 4th rank in State. She said the result of district is 91.12%, which is 28% higher than previous year.
