Fatehgarh Sahib, June 12, 2019: The existing school education system needs drastic changes and it should be job oriented, so that our schools and colleges may not produce unemployed youths. The education must be as per the requirement of the industry, trade and self business. The Govt. Schools in Fatehgarh Sahib constituency will be converted into smart schools and an interaction between industry and school students will be initiated as on experiment basis, so that students may aspire for jobs in industrial sector, said Dr. Amar Singh newly elected Member of Parliament from Fatehgarh Sahib, while presiding over his maiden function organised by District Education department to honour all those students of metric and plus two, who figured in State merit list and the school heads whose results were 100%.
He said it is matter of great pride that seven students from Govt. Schools figured in State merit list out of eight achieved by students from the district and the District jumped from 11th position to 3rd position in the State after the declaration of board exams.
He said that Chief Minister has great concern for Education and health and with his consistent efforts the students from Govt. Schools performed better than the private school students. Appreciating the teaching community for taking the responsibility and with hard work they brought laurels to education department and State jumped to 4th position in the Nation. He announced that he will be happy to donate from MP LAD fund for the cause of education.
Kuljit Singh Nagra MLA said that now Govt. School students have started coming forward and suggesting the requirements in their schools, which is a good sign and parents have started opting for Govt. Schools. He assured that all their requirements will be fulfilled.
Earlier DR. Parshant Goyal DC said with the efforts of State Govt. Pre nursery classes have started and in most of the schools education is imparted in English medium. He said State Govt. Has also improved health infrastructure and all facilities are assured in Govt. Hospitals.
Paramjit Kaur Sidhu District Education Officer (Secondary) read the achievements of education department and said the Govt. School students have started getting merits. She said the results of 42 schools of the district got 100% results.
