Human rights advocate Navkiran Singh.
Chandigarh, October 1, 2019: Lawyers for Human Rights International (LFHRI) has welcomed the decision of the Central Government to commute the death sentence of Balwant Singh Rajoana and release of Sikh prisoners.
In a tweet, LFHRI General Secretary advocate Navkiran Singh said that their organization welcomes the move of Government of India to commute death sentence of Balwant Singh Rajoana an accused in the assassination of former Punjab CM Beant Singh. He also welcomed the decision to release Sikh prisoners.
Talking to Babushahi.com, Navkiran Singh said that the government should also look into other cases related to Sikhs to do justice.
It is worth mentioning here that Navkiran Singh is a well-known human rights lawyer. He represented Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) as lawyer during a hearing before a Central Tribunal recently regarding the proposal to ban SFJ.
He works at Chandigarh and is known for taking courageous stand on the different issues concerning human rights in general and Sikh community in particular.
