New Delhi, August 28: BJP National President JP Nadda today released book ‘Sikhs & Modi: A Journey of Nine years’ written by Dr. Prabhleen Singh and published by Dr. Sandeep Ghosh of Outlook Publishers here today.
Addressing an impressive gathering of Sikh community organised by BJP Sikh leader and former Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) President Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Nadda said that led by PM Narendra Modi the Union government has successfully made efforts to tell the World about sacrifices made by Sikh Gurus and Sikh community for the nation. He said that it was first time after Independence that country has started observing ‘Veer Bal Diwas’ on day of sacrifice by young sahibzade of Guru Gobind Singh for unity and integrity of the country. He said that we have learnt from Sikh Gurus how to keep society united, how to generate feeling of dedication for the country, spirit of patriotism and brining unity among masses. He said that we are working to make India stronger by following path shown by Guru Sahiban.
He said that we have also made efforts to tell the world how Sikh community has contributed in freedom struggle of the country and how it was regularly contributing for making our country strong. He said that issues that were hanging for last 70 years have been resolved by Modi government. He said that Sikh community always works for welfare of all and taking everyone along and this principle is visible in working of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He said that since last more than 70 years pilgrims were paying obeisance at Gurdwara Hemkunt Sahib and governments of the day were witnessing its importance but did nothing and it is only PM Modi who made Rs. 1163 crore plan for establishing ropeway to take old aged pilgrims without any sufferings.
Talking about 400th Prakash Purab observed by Modi government at Red Fort, BJP President said that PM Modi decided to celebrate this pious day at Red fort to ensure that those boundary walls which witnessed martyrdom of Guru Sahib, can also hear his great life and his philosophy.
He further said that PM Modi brought CAA to ensure that Sikhs from Afghanistan, Pakistan and other countries can be brought back to country. He said that saroops of Guru Granth Sahib ji were brought from Afghanistan after Taliban took over the country and these saroops were brought will full maryada. He also disclosed that from October 2023 Gatka a Sikh marshall art will be part of National games in the country.
He said that under PM Modi Union government approved FCRA enabling members of Sikh community settled in different countries to contribute towards Sri Harmandir Sahib Sri Amritsar Sahib a highly revered place among all communities worldwide. He said that Modi government also decided to abolish GST for Sri Harmandir Sahib.
He said that under PM Modi different ministries including Foreign and Defence approved project Kartarpur Sahib corridor and today daily 15000 pilgrims pay obeisance at Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib. He said that Modi government also abolished black list of 314 persons enabling 312 from them to return to their native country who have thanked government for enabling them to pay obeisance at Sri Darbar Sahib.
He said that it Modi government which constituted SIT for afresh investigation of 1984 Sikh genocide and paved ways for conviction of guilty after 38 years of the killings. He also disclosed how Modi government was constructing circuit to interlink Gurdwaras at Sri Anandapur Sahib, Ferozepur, Fatehgarh Sahib and other places.
On the occasion, BJP Sikh leader and former President DSGMC Manjinder Singh Sirsa along with DSGMC President Harmeet Singh Kalka, General Secretary Jagdip Singh Kahlon and others welcomed Nadda and other guests.
Sirsa said that Sikh community will always be thankful to PM Modi for his efforts for the Sikh community. He also detailed on decisions taken by PM Modi for Sikhs in these 9 years.
Addressing the gathering former MP and senior Akali leader Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa said that how he was surprised on his selection for Padam Sri award by Modi government. He said that when he met PM Modi he told him that he was doing so much for the Sikh community and farmers but information of decision was not reaching till bottom. He said that he was thankful to Manjinder Singh Sirsa who floated idea for the book and organised this function successfully. He also shared information about his UK visit and disclosed that those Sikhs whose names were included in Black list were not aware of abolition of black list by Modi government.
DSGMC President Harmeet Singh Kalka moved a resolution commending PM Narendra Modi for working for resolving issues of Sikh community during last 9 years and resolution was approved unanimously by Sikh community gathering. He also said that PM Modi ensured that message of Guru Nanak Dev ji on Sarb Sanjhiwalta (Common good) reaches everyone at International level. He said that PM Modi met Sikh delegations and ensured resolving issues concerning Sikh community.
On the occasion JP Nadda was honoured by organisers with Phulkari (a traditional Punjabi cloth)
Among others who addressed the gathering included Lt. General Harpal Singh former MP Tarlochan Singh, Justice JS Asthani and DSGMC General Secretary Jagdip Singh Kahlon besides others.
On the occasion Dr. Sandeep Ghosh publisher of the book and other prominent personalities were also present.
