Under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, DSCW holds meeting with Sarpanchs of 5 villages
Ferozepur, March 2, 2021: Under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan – a scheme run by Ministry of Huma Resource Development for the development of villages, a meeting was held at Dev Samaj College for Women with Sarpanchs of 5 villages of Ferozepur, under the able leadership of Dr. Ramanita Sharda, Principal, Dev Samaj College for Women, Ferozepur. Chief Guest at the meeting was Harjinder Singh, DDPO.
On Tuesday, the Sarpanchs from villages Hardasa, Vallur, Gatti Rajo Ke, Ferozshah and Chuchak Wind were selected under UBA, for the meeting. Prof Baljinder Singh, Punjabi Deprtment highlighted the objectives and functions of the UBA through Power Point Presentation-PPP and the programme was conducted by Prof Sumindra Singh Siddiqi, Coordinator UBA.
Speaking on the occasion, Harjinder Singh, DDPO said, Unnat Bharat Abhiyan – UBA, a flagship programme of he Ministry of Education launched in 2014 - is inspired by the vision of transformational change in rural development processes by leveraging knowledge institutions to help build the architecture of an Inclusive India.
He further said, It aims to link the Higher Education Institutions – HEIs, with a set of at least five villages os that these institutions can contribute to the economic and social betterment of those village communities using their knowledge base by identifying three to five core issues common amongst all the villages and few issues based on local conditions to work on them.
DDPO said, we will extend full cooperation in every event of the college under UBA in the selected villages.
