Master your fields to serve nation as valuable human resources: Pargat exhorts students
Hands over degrees to over 90 students at felicitation and award ceremony of DAV Insititute of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation

Jalandhar, December 4, 2021: Reinforcing that the development of the county was impossible without the development of its human resources, Punjab Education Minister Pargat Singh today called upon the students to excel in their respective fields to be able to serve the nation with their professional skills.
Presiding over the felicitation and award distribution ceremony held here at DAV Institute of Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation, the minister said that the investment in education was the need of the hour as it would not only increase employability but also enable our youngsters to achieve rare feats in these times of global competition.
He also threw light on the initiatives being taken by the Punjab Government in making the field of education in tune with the contemporary times so that our students get the best of the educational facilities here.
The more we invest in education, the more the development of the nation is ensured in a short period, he added.
Describing the DAV institutions as a philanthropic organization, Singh said that the group was playing a crucial role in providing the best of education to its students across the country.
He also announced a grant of Rs. five lakh for the DAV Institute of Physiotherapy and rehabilitation from his discretionary funds besides assuring fulsome support to DAV group in its future endeavors.
Describing physiotherapy as a key profession, especially for sportspersons, the minister also shared his personal experience when he got injured before the finals of the Asian Games in Seoul in the 90s and how physiotherapists healed him overnight, thereby making him able to participate in the game.
The minister then invoked the entire academia to play a proactive role in making Punjab a progressive state in India adding, this goal could only be achieved through fine-tuning our human resources with a top-class education system which was already a top-most priority of the state government.
He urged the students to put more focus on their studies so that they become excellent professionals and grab job opportunities at the international level.
He distributed degrees among as many as 95 students of BPT & MPT streams, who have made distinctive performances in their respective studies by securing meritorious positions in the university.
Earlier, Vice President of DAV Management Committee Justice (Retd.) N.K. Sood congratulated all the passing out students on the behalf of the entire management and wished for their shining career while Principal Dr. Jatinder Sharma shared his future vision for the DAV Institute of Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation listing a slew of initiatives planned for next year. Secretary of Management Committee Ajay Goswami and Arvind Ghai were also present on the occasion.
The minister also took around at the institute where he interacted with the physiotherapists and visitors at various departments here.
