World Environment Day celebrated at PAU

Ludhiana, June 5, 2023:World Environment Day was celebrated on the premises of hostel no. 11, 12, and 14 of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) today.
On the occasion, a plantation drive was held where 30 fruit sapling plants of lemon, guava, sapota, and jamun were planted within hostel premises under the theme “My Hostel, My Home.”
The sapling plants were allocated to the students individually to transplant and they were also guided to spare some time to take care of the transplanted plants.Dr. Nirmal Jaura, Director of Students’ Welfare, stressed the protection of the environment and provided tips to conserve nature.
He also motivated the students and the staff to opt for an inner motivational drive to save the environment at an individual level by adopting sustainable practices.
Dr. Prachi Bisht, Assistant Warden, proposed a vote of thanks.Dr. Rishi Inder Gill, Estate Officer; Dr. Jaswinder Kaur, Coordinator, Cultural Activities; Dr. Usha Nara, Dr. Kamalpreet Kaur, Dr Ambika Rautela, and Dr Prachi Bisht, Assistant Wardens; hostel students and staff also graced the occasion.
