DSCW students celebrate World Ozone Day based on Montreal Protocol
Ferozepur, September 16, 2023: The students of Science Department of Dev Samaj College for Women, Ferozepur celebrated World Ozone Day, under the tutelage of Dr. Sangeeta. The event was based on the topic "Montreal Protocol: Repairing the Ozone Layer and Mitigating Climate Change with an important role in protecting life on our planet earth.
World Ozone Day or International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer observed annually on September 16, is meant to raise awareness about the importance of the ozone layer and how its depletion is leading to global warming and climate change across the world.
Dr.Sangeeta Principal said, the science departments of the college organized Ozone Day activities, shared information about ozone with the students. B.Sc Medical and Non-Medical students made powerpoint and poster presentations on the occasion of Ozone Day. While \t students of the Post Graduate Biology Department gave a speech and wrote an essay on Ozone Day in which information was given about the harmful effects of depletion of ozone layer on human health and environment.
In addition, the students of B.Sc. Medical and M.Sc. , made useful items out of waste to contribute to zero waste reduction and elimination of pollution to protect the layer. These items were displayed in the exhibition and the students presented the usefulness of the items in saving the ozone layer.
