Amid India-Pakistan Tensions, MLA Bhullar visits border villages, assures support
Ferozepur, May 8, 2025: In light of rising tensions between India and Pakistan following the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, killing 26 personnel, Ferozepur Rural MLA Ranbir Singh Bhullar visited various villages in the border region to assess the situation and interact with residents.
During his visit, Bhullar assured the villagers that the Punjab Government, along with civil and police administration, stands firmly with the people and that there is no need for panic. He praised the courage of border residents and reaffirmed the nation’s unity in the fight against terrorism.
Punjabis are known for their bravery across the world. We are proud of our Indian Army and our brave soldiers," said the MLA, while encouraging the community to remain calm and vigilant. Residents also expressed their readiness to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the armed forces in any challenging time.
Officials accompanying the MLA, including SDM Zira Gurmeet Singh and DSP Sukhwinder Singh, advised the public not to believe or spread rumours on social media that could lead to fear or confusion.
Added here, several residents of villages along the International Border with Pakistan have begun relocating to safer areas following India’s strike on terror infrastructure in the neighbouring country during the early hours of Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Deepshikha Sharma today also held a meeting with local NGOs and social activists to review civil defence preparedness. She urged residents to remain calm, clarifying that no official orders for evacuation had been issued. Sharma assured that the administration is fully alert and equipped to handle any situation, and added that senior officials have been deployed to counsel and support the villagers.
