PAU School of Business Studies hosts delegation from Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth

Ludhiana (Punjab), March 12, 2025: The School of Business Studies (SBS) at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) welcomed a delegation of students and faculty members from Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth (MPKV), Rahuri.
The delegation, comprising 86 students pursuing B.Sc. (Hons) in Agribusiness Management, was accompanied by four faculty members - Dr O.R. Thorat, Dr. Kishor Chavan, Dr S. T. Kashid, and Dr S. M. Nalawade.
The visit was aimed at fostering academic collaboration, enhancing knowledge sharing, and providing the visiting students with insights into agribusiness management practices at PAU.
Dr Ramandeep Singh, Director, School of Business Studies, inaugurated the session, emphasizing the significance of innovation and excellence in agribusiness management.
He highlighted the pivotal role of the agricultural sector in rural development and in driving economic sustainability.He also motivated the students to harness their knowledge, develop entrepreneurial skills, and contribute to the agricultural economy with a progressive vision.
Faculty of SBS - Dr Sandeep Kapur, Dr Babita Kumar, Dr Gagandeep Banga, Dr Mohit Gupta, Dr Navdeep Aggarwal, and Dr Rakesh Rathore engaged in a series of informative sessions, shedding light on various aspects of agribusiness and career opportunities in the domain.
The discussions covered emerging trends in agribusiness management and the potential of research and innovation in shaping the future of agriculture, besides divulging upon PAU’s role in facilitating agribusiness development, research-driven solutions, and industry-academia collaborations that have enabled students to become job creators rather than job seekers.
An interactive knowledge-sharing session ensued between the visiting students and the faculty members - Dr Sarishma, Dr Manveer, Dr Navneet Kaur, and Dr Roohi, offering valuable insights into entrepreneurial success stories nurtured by PAU.
These success stories served as real-world examples of how students and aspiring entrepreneurs can leverage institutional support and industry exposure to build successful agricultural ventures.
Beyond the classroom learning experience, the visiting students were given a guided tour of the Food Industry Business Incubation Centre (FIBIC) and the NIDHI-Technology Business Incubator (NIDHI-TBI) at PAU.
The visit to these incubation centres provided the students with an in-depth understanding of the university’s food processing unit, technological advancements, and the entrepreneurial support system in place to help young business minds establish and grow their ventures.
At FIBIC, students gained first-hand knowledge of food processing techniques, value addition, and the commercialization of agri-based products.The visit to NIDHI-TBI introduced them to the various incubation services and mentorship programs designed to nurture agribusiness start-ups.
The delegation’s visit marked an important milestone in PAU’s on-going efforts to promote knowledge exchange and strengthen its ties with other agricultural universities.
