36 flood-hit schools in Ferozepur to remain closed until further orders; Others reopen from Sept 8
Ferozepur, September 7, 2025: Deputy Commissioner Deepshikha Sharma announced that 36 schools in flood-affected areas of the district will remain closed until further orders. However, all other government, private, and aided schools, colleges, and universities will reopen for teachers on September 8 and for students on September 9.
The DC informed that teachers have been directed to attend schools on September 8 to oversee and ensure cleanliness arrangements before students return. Classes for students will resume in the normal routine from September 9 onwards.
Among the 36 flood-affected institutions that will remain closed are Government Primary Schools at Tendi Wala, Kalu Wala, Gatti Rahime Ke, Nihala Lavera, Dhira Ghara, Kamalwala Muthian Wala, Nihale Wala, Chandi Wala, Rajo Ke Uspar, Khundar Gatti, Ale Wala, Arazi Sabhran, Dulle Ke Nathuwala, Gatti Ajaib Singh, Nau Bahiram Sher Singh, Dhani Gurmukh Singh, Rana Panj Garai, Nawan Rana Panja Garai, Sher Singh Wala, Mauji Bahadur Ke, Kale Ke Hithar, Kutabdin Wala, Bandhala, Basti Ram Lal, Bhakhra, Sultan Wala, Fateh Wala, Bagge Wala; Government Middle Schools at Ale Wala, Kamalwala Muthian Wala, Nihale Wala, and Mahalam; Government High School Khundar Gatti; and Government Senior Secondary Schools Dhira Ghara, Gatti Rajo Ke, and Nau Bahiram Sher Singh.
