Under Pre-SIR drive, 85.35% voter mapping completed in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, April 24, 2026: Under the Pre-Special Intensive Revision (Pre-SIR) campaign, the mapping of voters from 2025 is being carried out with reference to the 2003 electoral rolls. In Ferozepur district, 85.35% of voters have already been successfully mapped, informed District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner, Deepshikha Sharma, IAS, after reviewing the progress of the initiative.
She stated that, as per the directions of the Election Commission of India, verification of voters listed in the 2003 rolls is being conducted through Booth Level Officers (BLOs). Citizens have been urged to cooperate with BLOs, who are visiting households in their respective areas to complete voter mapping during the Pre-SIR exercise.
The Election Registration Officers have been directed to ensure 100% voter mapping in rural booths across the constituencies of Zira, Ferozepur Urban, Ferozepur Rural, and Guru Har Sahai. So far, 84.70% mapping has been completed in Zira, 73.88% in Ferozepur Urban, 92.24% in Ferozepur Rural, and 89.92% in Guru Har Sahai.
Appealing to voters across the district, the District Election Officer urged them to get their details verified through BLOs as per government guidelines. Information regarding concerned BLOs can be accessed on the official website of the Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab.
She further informed that special camps will be organized across all polling booths in Ferozepur district on April 25 and 26, 2026 (Saturday and Sunday), from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. During these camps, BLOs will conduct door-to-door visits to complete the mapping process.
The general public has been requested to extend full cooperation to ensure the achievement of 100% voter mapping in the district.
