17 found COVID positive during testing in a school of Mohali
Mohali, April 26, 2021:
On receving a complaint about students of a residential school suffering from fever, Mohali administration dispatched a medical team to conduct COVID 19 test of the inmates.
As per the administration, the report of the samples, taken from the Career Point Gurukul situated near village Tangori, Banur Road, Mohali, revealed that 17 persons including students and staff members tested COVID positive out of the 100 tested till late evening. Extensive testing is on and the complete result is expected to come on Tuesday.
The positive persons have been isolated in Covid Care Centre (CCC) Gharuan while those found negative are being sent home to their respective families, informed Deputy Commissioner Girish Dayalan.
Taking a serious note of the callousness of the school authorities, Deputy Commissioner said that it is highly irresponsible on the part of the school authorities that they should have contacted to administration as soon as any symptom/suspicion arose. He reiterated that any COVID related symptoms should not be ignored and immediate test be taken to avoid the spread of the virus.
