  Chandigarh, January 29, 2026: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) registered a decisive victory in the Chandigarh Mayor’s election, with Saurabh Joshi being elected as the new Mayor. Joshi secured 18 votes in the poll, comfortably surpassing his rivals.
  
  The Congress candidate received seven votes, while the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate managed to get 11 votes. With this clear mandate, the BJP has strengthened its position in the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation.
