SAS Nagar, January 29, 2026: Mohali Police have registered an FIR against foreign-based gangster and handler Satinderpal Singh @ Goldy Brar in connection with the murder of Gurwinder Singh, who was shot dead near the District Administrative Complex (DAC), Mohali, this afternoon. Sharing details of the incident, DIG Rupnagar Range Nanak Singh, along with SSP SAS Nagar Harmandeep Singh Hans, said that the incident occurred at around 3:00 PM today. An unidentified assailant shot dead Gurwinder Singh @ Lambbad, son of Avtar Singh, a resident of village Rurki Pukhta under Police Station Sadar Kharar, while he was opening the boot of his car parked on the road outside ACC Housing Society near the District Administrative Complex, Mohali. DIG Nanak Singh said that during preliminary investigation, it was found that the deceased had come to the District Courts, Mohali, in connection with a hearing in FIR No. 281/24 under Section 18 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Kharar. After attending the court hearing, when Gurwinder Singh reached near his car along with his wife, an assailant who was already present near the vehicle fired multiple shots at him and fled from the spot. He further informed that based on the statement of the deceased’s wife, a prima facie case under Sections 103(1), 61(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 25 of the Arms Act has been registered at Police Station Sohana against Satinderpal Singh @ Goldy Brar. The complainant stated that Gurwinder Singh had been receiving threats from Goldy Brar, as he was nominated as an accused in the murder case of Gurlal Brar, who was the cousin of Goldy Brar. “Multiple teams have been constituted for technical analysis, scientific investigation, and human intelligence to trace and arrest the accused at the earliest,” DIG Nanak Singh said.
