Canada: Gunshots fired at police station and Indian restaurant

Surrey, October 7, 2025: In a shocking incident gunshots were fired at a police station and an Indian restaurant within 24 hours.
According to available details, after firing police station was locked by authorities. Incident occurred during afternoon at Surrey’s Whalley.
The Surrey Police Service (SPS) has confirmed that shortly after 4 p.m., traffic and pedestrian access were blocked near King George Boulevard and 107 Avenue. Police has urged residents to avoid the area while the investigation unfolded.
Though no one was injured in the shooting, Police has taken a suspect into custody. Police said that arrested person has placed a bag inside police station after which a team of experts was called to assess threat of explosion.
This was third incident of shooting in Surrey within the same day. At around 2:20 a.m., gunshots were fired at Indian restaurant the Ustaad G76 Indian restaurant on King George Boulevard. Police is linking this incident to be a case of extortion.
In third incident shots were also fired at a residence on 141 Street in Whalley, while several people were inside but no one was injured.
