Chandigarh reported 4 deaths and 602 new COVID-19 cases
Chandigarh, April 20, 2021:
Chandigarh reported 602 new COVID-19 positive cases on Tuesday. Four deaths due to COVID were also reported in the last 24 hours. The city crossed ‘600’ mark consecutively for the third day.
As per the information released by the health department, UT Chandigarh, the total number of active cases in Chandigarh stands at 3,959.
In the last 24 hours, the department has tested 3,026 samples. As per the figure, 421 deaths have been reported in Chandigarh due to COVID-19 to date.
Likewise, the total number of patients who have tested positive to date stands at 35,148.

COVID Death:-
- An 80 year old COVID positive Male R/o Sector 47, a case of Type-2 Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension and Severe Acute Respiratory Infections , expired at GMCH-32.
- A 92 year old COVID positive Male R/o Sector 24, a case of Severe Acute Respiratory Infections, expired at GMCH-32.
- A 66 year old COVID positive Female R/o Sector 38 West, a case of Bilateral Pneumonia expired at GMSH 16.
- A 79 year old COVID positive Male R/o Sector 20, a case of Refractory Septic Shock and Chronic Liver Disease expired at PGIMER.
Discharged Patients:-
- A total of 443 patients have been discharged including persons from home isolation who have completed 10 days and are asymptomatic, as per MoHFW guidelines.
