General Observer inspects security arrangements at sensitive polling stations of Atma Nagar Constituency

Ludhiana, May 22, 2024 - General Observer for Ludhiana Parliamentary Constituency Divya Mittal, IAS. On Wednesday reviewed the security arrangements at the sensitive polling stations under Atma Nagar Vidhan Sabha Constituency of Ludhiana Parliamentary Constituency. Atma Nagar Assembly Constituency is an expenditure-sensitive constituency.
Atma Nagar Assembly Constituency Assistant Returning Officer (ARO) Paramdeep Singh and Assistant Commissioner (UT) Kritika Goyal along with General Observer Divya Mittal visited Narayan E-Techno School, Urban Estate Dugri and Model Town Extension.
Inspected the sensitive polling stations set up at Sri Vivekananda Swarga Ashram (Old Age Ashram).
General Observer Divya Mittal for information regarding deployment of security personnel at polling stations, transportation of EVMs and facilities for polling staff/voters. Instructions were issued to ensure drinking water/toilet facilities for the voters at the polling stations. He asked the officials to ensure action against those causing potential disturbance in the area to maintain the law and order situation.
General Observer Divya Mittal also directed ARO Paramdeep Singh to visit sensitive areas in the assembly constituency and interact with the residents to instill confidence in voters. It aims to ensure that people participate in the democratic process without fear or coercion.
ARO Paramdeep Singh said that following the instructions of District Election Officer Sakshi Sahni, adequate arrangements are being made at all the polling stations for the convenience of the voters. The administration will ensure sheds, fans, lemon water/sweet water etc. for the voters.

- SST in Gurdev Nagar by General Observer Divya Mittal. Also, review the functioning of In total, 126 SSTs have been deployed in the district (9 teams in each assembly constituency in 14 constituencies). These teams are conducting vehicle checking drives and helping to ensure strict implementation of the Model Code of Conduct in the district.
General Observer Divya Mittal SST Instructed the team members to ensure that they keep a record of the vehicles being checked by them. Also a proper record of the items seized during surveillance should be kept.
