New Delhi, March 27, 2026: Weather conditions across North India, including the Delhi-NCR region, changed dramatically on Thursday as sudden heavy rainfall led to a noticeable drop in temperatures.
The showers brought much-needed relief from the rising heat, making the weather pleasant across several regions. The shift is being attributed to an active western disturbance that has been influencing the region over the past few days, maintaining a mild chill in the air.
According to the Meteorological Department, a rain alert had already been issued for both hilly and plains regions. On March 27, hilly areas are likely to witness thunderstorms, lightning, strong winds, and even snowfall in higher reaches.
Meanwhile, light rainfall is expected at multiple places across West Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, and Punjab.
The department has further predicted another spell of rainfall between March 28 and 31 due to a fresh western disturbance approaching the region.
In Noida, even a brief spell of rain significantly cooled down the weather, with a drop in maximum temperatures recorded. Weather experts say that cyclonic activity over the Himalayan region is likely to keep conditions similar over the coming days, with intermittent rain and cooler temperatures expected to persist.
