Police Investigating The Source Of Such A Massive Delivery Of Banned Strings And Crackers: Gurpreet Singh Bhullar

Launching a crackdown against the illegal stocking and selling of firecrackers ahead of the Diwali festival, Commissionerate Police on Thursday evening has unearthed two godowns of prohibited firecrackers and Chinese kite flying strings in Pakka Bagh Locality.
Divulging more, Commissioner of police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that the police were on a combing operation keeping in view the guidelines issued by the High Court and the state government to curb the illegal stocking and sale of firecrackers in the city. He further added on the secret information a special team under the supervision of ADCP Vatsalla Gupta and ACP Sukhjinder Singh today evening raided two godowns in Pakka Bagh locality and recovered as many as 44 boxes of firecrackers and 15 boxes of banned Chinese kite flying string. The seized boxes of firecrackers and Chinese strings are about Rs. 10 Lakhs of market value, adding the CP described the measurement of recovered boxed as 26 boxes of crackers were of 4X4 feet, 18 boxed of 4X2 feet along 15 Chinese string boxes with a measurement of 1.5X2 feet.
Pointing out further, the Commissioner of Police said that during preliminary investigations the godowns found to be belonging to Gurdeep Singh alias Gora r/o Riazpur who was a habitual offender of illegally stocking firecrackers. Bhullar added that earlier in 2018, an explosive incident had taken place in their home in the central town area followed by another blast incident at Baba Mohan Singh Nagar in 2019. The father-son duo was booked by the police in these instances, and another case under section Explosive Substances Act and prevailing sections of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused today.
The CP further mentioned that police were investigating the source of such a massive delivery of firecrackers and Chinese strings to the accused, and ensure stern action against the cartels in this unlawful activity. The commissioner of police reiterated his commitment to adopting a zero-tolerance policy against the illegal stocking and sale of firecrackers besides warning perpetrators of such heinous crime of strict against. He categorically mentioned that the commiserate police were keeping a close vigil over the illegal stoking and sale of firecrackers and more action would be taken in the coming days.
Bhullar called upon people to come forward and help the police by giving them information on unauthorized stocking and selling of firecrackers so that the foremost safety of the security of the people could be ensured.
