Nawanshahr's Road Reconstruction Nightmare: A Tale of Inefficiency and Neglect

The ongoing road reconstruction and intermittent suspension of work on a road namely railway road in Nawanshahr has become a nightmare for residents and commuters of the region. Despite the political promises of better infrastructure, the project has been plagued by delays, lack of safety measures, and poor planning.
The absence of alternate routes and inadequate signage has led to chaos, with vehicles navigating through narrow lanes and pedestrians facing undue hardship. Left protruding unsafe iron bars has been a great worry and has hit many. The situation is a clear example of the Municipal administration's apathy towards public convenience.
Social activist Ashwani Joshi appealing to higher authorities said,
'It's time for the higher authorities to take cognizance of the issue and take concrete steps to address the problems. Joshi said that the people of Nawanshahr must think of better leaders if the city has to improve.
For betterment he suggested to strictly and professionally
- Display clear safety precautions and warning signs
- Plan and mark alternate routes
- Provide regular updates on project timeline
- Ensure accountability and transparency
The administration must act now to restore normalcy and ensure the project is completed efficiently without intermittent suspensions of work and ensure timely payments towards such constructions.
