PSPCL Patiala clinches title as 47th AIESCB Football Tournament concludes

Patiala (Punjab), November 21, 2025: The two-day 47th All India Electricity Sports Control Board (AIESCB) Football Tournament came to a spirited close today at the PSPCL Sports Complex in Patiala, marking another successful edition of one of the most anticipated sporting events in the power sector.
Teams from Haryana Power Sports Group, PSPCL Patiala, MP Power, Bihar SPHC, Rajasthan VN, Telangana Genco, Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh showcased exceptional talent, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
CA Vinod Bansal, Director Finance, PSTCL, presided over the closing ceremony as the Chief Guest, while Er. Harinder Pal, Chief Engineer HRD, PSTCL, was present as the Guest of Honour. Both dignitaries congratulated the participants and praised the competitive spirit displayed during the matches.
In his address, Chief Guest CA Vinod Bansal commended the strong sporting ethos of PSPCL and highlighted the accomplishments of its renowned athletes, including Arjuna Awardees Madhuri Saxena (Athletics) and Raj Kumar (Badminton), as well as international players Yogita Sharma, Amarinder Singh, Navdeep Singh, and Harpreet Singh.
He proudly noted PSPCL’s outstanding performance at the 46th AIESCB Tournament 2024–25, where the organisation secured Gold Medals in Football, Table Tennis, Lawn Tennis, Badminton, Hockey, Chess, and Tug of War, along with Silver medals in Volleyball, Bodybuilding, Wrestling, and Cricket.
“Such consistent excellence has enabled PSPCL to lift the AIESCB Trophy for a record 15 consecutive years,” he stated.
Guest of Honour Er. Harinder Pal applauded the commitment of all teams and lauded PSPCL’s continued efforts to promote sports and teamwork. “Such events build camaraderie, inspire our employees, and showcase the discipline that defines our institutions,” he said.
AIESCB members Naresh Kumar (General Secretary), Sajjan Kumar (Advisor), Pankaj Dadwal (Advisor), and Anil Kumar (Sports Secretary) also attended the ceremony.
The tournament concluded with loud celebrations as prizes were awarded to the top teams.
