Yuva Aapda Mitra Camp enters day 5 with ‘Rope-Rescue Drills’ for 150 NSS volunteers
Ferozepur, November 21, 2025: The Youth Disaster Mitra Training Camp, organized by the Shaheed Bhagat Singh State University, Ferozepur, in collaboration with the District Administration, Ferozepur, and facilitated by the Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration (MGSIPA), Chandigarh, successfully completed its fifth day.
Under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner, Deep Shikha Sharma, the training camp witnessed an engaging session on rope rescue techniques, with Colonel Dalbir Singh (Retd.), General Manager of Disaster Management at MGSIPA, as the special guest.
The fifth day of the training camp focused on imparting critical skills in rope rescue techniques (Rope Rescue), lightning safety measures, and handling of chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) emergencies through both theoretical and practical sessions. The trainees were exposed to hands-on experience with emergency rescue techniques.
Colonel Dalbir Singh, during his special address, shared valuable insights and interacted with the trainees, emphasizing the importance of disaster preparedness and response. The training sessions were conducted by a team of experts from MGSIPA, including Amarinder Singh, Jasvir Singh (Captain, Retd.), Aman Manikotia, Sumit Singh, Mahikpreet Singh, Jasvir Singh Pipli, Johnson, Narinder Singh, and Ramandeep Singh.
Around 150 NSS volunteers actively participated in today's session, demonstrating their enthusiasm and commitment to learning. The training sessions provided them with comprehensive knowledge on disaster management and rescue operations.
The primary objective of this training camp is to strengthen disaster preparedness in the district, equipping the youth with essential skills to respond effectively in emergency situations.
