Punjab continues relief under Mission Chardi Kala phase-3; over Rs 6 crore disbursed on day three
Compensation reaches flood-hit families across districts; aid includes houses, crops, and livestock support

On the third consecutive day of the third phase of Mission Chardi Kala, the Punjab Government continued relief distribution to flood-affected families, with compensation disbursed in excess of Rs 6 crore across the state.
At a special event in Lehragaga, Cabinet Minister Barinder Kumar Goyal handed over compensation sanction letters worth Rs 1.02 crore to 280 residents affected by heavy rainfall and flood-like conditions, reaffirming the government’s commitment to stand with every citizen impacted by natural calamities.
Food, Civil Supplies, Consumer Affairs, Forest and Wildlife Preservation Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak disbursed Rs 45 lakh to affected families from villages in Narot Jaimal Singh, Pathankot, reiterating the state’s resolve to provide timely assistance.
In Ferozepur, MLA Ranbir Singh Bhullar distributed approval letters amounting to Rs 4.85 crore to 732 families at village Bandala, while AAP Halqa Incharge Advocate Harsimran Singh Ghuman disbursed Rs 7.20 lakh in Bhulath constituency to families from villages Sangojla and Nabi Baksh Wala.
Officials noted that Punjab has positioned itself as the leading state on compensation rates, ensuring efficient and transparent delivery of relief to eligible households. Financial assistance includes enhanced support for damaged houses from Rs 6,500 to Rs 40,000 per house, crop-loss compensation at Rs 20,000 per acre, and livestock assistance at Rs 37,500 per milch animal, Rs 32,000 per non-milch animal, Rs 20,000 per calf, and Rs 100 per poultry bird.
