Chandigarh, February 10, 2026: The harsh winter conditions in Punjab and Chandigarh have come to an end, with the Meteorological Department forecasting clear skies and dry weather across the region till February 15. There is no possibility of rain or fog during this period, officials said.
According to the department, temperatures dipped marginally by 0.9 degrees Celsius on Monday due to cold winds blowing from the mountainous regions. Despite this slight drop, temperatures remained 1.7 degrees above normal.
Cloud cover was observed in some areas on Monday; however, due to a lack of moisture, no rainfall occurred. Director of the Meteorological Department, Surender Pal, stated that a cyclonic circulation formed over Pakistan due to the impact of a western disturbance, but its effect in Punjab was limited only to cloud formation.
“The weather is expected to remain completely dry for the next seven days,” he said.
Over the past 24 hours, Chandigarh’s temperature dropped by 1.6 degrees Celsius, with the maximum recorded at 22.1°C. Bathinda reported a minimum temperature of 7.0°C.
Other major cities in Punjab also recorded near-normal temperatures, including Amritsar (22.4°C), Ludhiana (22.8°C), and Patiala (23.0°C).
The Meteorological Department has advised residents that stable and pleasant weather conditions are likely to continue across the state in the coming days.
