'Nationwide Black Day' observed in Kisan Morchas of Punjab on call of Kisan Morcha
Chandigarh, March 6, 2021: On the occasion of 'Nationwide Black Day' called by Samyukta Kisan Morcha today, around 32 farmers' organizations staged dharnas at 68 places including toll plazas, Reliance pumps, railway parks across the state
The ‘Black Day’ received an overwhelming response. Scores of farmers participated in the protect wearing turbans, bandages while women wore black dupatta to stage protest against the central government.
“Despite the passage of 100 days of farmers agitation at the borders of Punjab, the Union government has remained apathetic. Although the government is under pressure due to international outcry, it is refraining from repealing the law due to pressure from corporate houses and WTO policies, but the strength of the historic movement will force the government to bow down. Will have to repeal 3 Agriculture Acts including Electricity Amendment Bill 2020 and Straw Ordinance and also dismiss false cases against farmers,” said Jagmohan Singh Patiala, General Secretary, Bhartiya Kisan Union-Ekta (Dakonda).
