Kisan Morcha condoles deaths due to oxygen shortage
*Prevention regarding corona is being maintained on Delhi Morcha, farmers are taking necessary care*
*Hundreds of teachers from Punjab reached Tikri border in support of farmers*
New Delhi, April 24, 2021: The Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) condoles the death of the COVID-19 patients who died due to oxygen shortage in various hospitals including Jaipur Golden Hospital in Delhi where 20 patients died on Saturday. The farmer union pointed that in the interest of the nation and considering the ongoing crisis, the farmers have already opened the roads from one side of Delhi’s border for emergency services.
“Volunteers of Kisan Morcha at Singhu, Ghazipur, Tikri, Shahjahanpur are constantly playing the role of COVID warriors on dharnas. Emergency services are open at every border. Two days ago, in a meeting with Haryana government officials, it was decided that barricades from one side of the road would now be removed. Although the Delhi Police has not yet removed the barricades, the vehicles coming or going to Delhi are not facing any problem on the part of the farmers. Farmers are helping the COVID warriors to reach the destination the right way,” stated SKM.
The union said that with the help of some social welfare organizations and doctors encouraging farmers for sanitation, distribution of masks, and vaccination at the protest sites. At the Tikri border, a team led by Dr. Sawaiman Singh is reaching out to the farmers and urging them to take necessary precautions regarding Corona.
On Saturday, plays directed by Sahib Singh were staged on the Singhu Border highlighting the importance of art in the struggle of farmers. During the play, the sorrow, pain, and suffering of the people were acknowledged and respected.
At the same time, Punjabi artist Ravinder Grewal also gave a presentation and encouraged the farmers. The union shared that more than 100 teachers of the Punjab Government Teachers Association have reached the Tikri border.
“The government has made all efforts to ensure that farmers do not come to the borders of Delhi and therefore the procurement has been also disturbed and delayed. More than 100 teachers of the Punjab Government Teachers Association reached the Tikri border. With the arrival of these teachers, the farmers are very enthusiastic and happy about the growing caravan," farmer leader Dr. Darshan Pal shared
